PALLISA
Police are investigating the sealing off of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Pallisa’s office by a group of people, including Gwatara Robert, Ogogolo Ayub, and Immunat Stephen.
According to Wilfred Kyempasa, the Bukedi North region police spokesperson, the incident occurred on May 26, 2026, at around 2:00 pm at Pallisa District Local Government Headquarters.
He says the CAO, Mr. Majeme Alex Felix, had been ordered to vacate his office within 15 days by the Pallisa District Council Committee, which he allegedly ignored.
When the CAO was attending a security meeting, the group stormed his office, pulled out the Secretary and sealed it off with timber, denying him access. Police were notified and responded, finding the office sealed and suspects fled.
The police examined the scene, documented it, and recorded statements. Two suspects were arrested and are being interrogated. The CAO’s office was reopened, and he resumed duties.
He adds that Investigations suggest the suspects are supporters of the District Chairperson LCV Pallisa, who has a grudge against the CAO due to a 2016 road accident involving the CAO’s wife and the chairman’s brother who died as a result. The matter is before the Permanent Secretary, and investigations are ongoing.
