Namisindwa District has today, Thursday, 28th May, 2026 constituted its Executive following the chaos that erupted last week during the swearing-in of the LCV Chairperson, which forced the Chief Administrative Officer to postpone the process until today.

After the swearing-in of the LCV Chairperson and Councilors last week, chaos broke out, forcing police to fire teargas leading to the postponement of the exercise.

The exercise presided over by Esther Nalungi, Chief Magistrate of Bubulo Magistrate Court, at the court premises took off with the election of District Speaker.

The contest was between Moses Waburoko, Councilor representing Tsekululu Sub County, and Wilson Walimbwa, representing Buwatuwa Sub County.

Walimbwa won with 38 votes against Waburoko’s 19 votes. Meanwhile, Sandra Wamukota Keti, Female Youth Councilor, was elected unopposed as deputy speaker.

Peter Masayi, Councilor representing Namboko Sub County, was also elected unopposed as District Vice Chairperson.

Betty Nandutu, Councilor for Tsekululu Sub County, has been appointed Secretary for Social Services; Bosco Sheba, Councilor representing Magele Town Council is Secretary for Production, Works and Technical Services; and Pius Mude, Councilor representing Lwakhakha Town Council, remains Secretary for Finance and Administration alongside the LCV Chairperson.

Emma Bwayo, LCV Chairperson of Namisindwa District, expressed happiness with the election, saying the lack of a substantive executive had prevented him and the CAO from carrying out district work.

He urged them to work hard for the development of Namisindwa, or he will make changes before the end of the five-year term.
