A Kalaki born man has been arrested red-handed with a motorcycle Reg No. UFS 398E he had earlier stolen from Nansana at Zengebe Ferry Crossing, in Lwampanga Town Council, Nakasongola district.
According to ASP Twiineamazima Sam, PRO Savannah region, the man whose name has not been revealed was arrested on Friday, 29th May, 2026 along the southern shores of Lake Kyoga following a tip off.
He says officers from Lwampanga Town Council Police Station, working jointly with the Zengebe Marine Detach, mounted an effective operation and deployment at the Zengebe Ferry crossing.
At about 5:00PM the suspect, whose image had earlier been captured by CCTV cameras, appeared at the ferry while riding the suspected stolen motorcycle. He was immediately intercepted and arrested by the security team.
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect was transporting the motorcycle to Kalaki District. He is currently detained at Lwampanga Town Council Police Station as investigations continue.
