KAMPALA
The body of the late celebrated local singer prince Job Paul Kaeero, who died 19 years ago, has been exhumed to facilitate DNA sampling on some of his children who have been squabbling for his properties.
The newly appointed Minister for Local Government Hon. Balaam Barugahare, believes that the exhumation will enable the family settle a protracted property dispute, which has remained unresolved for the last 19 years.
The exhumation exercise was conducted in the wee hours of Monday morning on June 1, 2026, by a team of pathologists led by Assistant Inspector General of Police Dr. Moses Byaruhanga, in line with a court order and established forensic procedures.
Authorities revealed that the process was conducted professionally, with samples collected for detailed scientific analysis.
The Government Analytical Laboratory and the Uganda Police Forensic Laboratory, will soon conduct independent DNA tests aimed at establishing conclusive findings.
It should be recalled that the celebrated singer died of kidney failure and severe fever, with complications compounded by acute malaria and long-term alcohol-related health issues. He passed away at Mulago Hospital on May 17, 2007, at the age of 36.
