Namisindwa District on Friday afternoon, 5th June, 2026 held its maiden Roads Committee meeting, bringing together Members of Parliament, the LC V Chairperson, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), and the District Engineer, in accordance with Section 25 of the Uganda Road Fund Act.
Speaking during the meeting, the LC V Chairperson, Bwayo Emma, said the committee is committed to ensuring quality road works and value for money in all planned road projects across the district. He revealed that the district has resolved to use Busumbu murram on major roads to improve accessibility and enhance the durability of road infrastructure.
Bwayo noted that all district leaders have pledged to work together in monitoring road projects to ensure effective service delivery.
He emphasized that roads are a key indicator of service delivery and directly impact the livelihoods of communities.
Meanwhile, Namisindwa District Woman Member of Parliament, Khalayi Peace, urged the technical team to ensure timely implementation of projects and regular reporting. She observed that delays in procurement processes and project execution often reflect negatively on political leaders and hinder service delivery.
The Secretary for Works and Councilor representing Magale Sub-county, Bosco Wasiebe, pledged his commitment to ensuring that the aspirations of the Roads Committee Chairperson are achieved. He said the public will be kept informed about all road projects and called upon community members to remain vigilant and actively monitor ongoing road works to ensure accountability and quality.
