The Bududa Resident District Commissioner, (RDC) Julie Namara has identified the armed UPDF General who attacked Bulucheke Police Post in Bulucheke Sub-county on Tuesday, 23rd June, 2026 and beat up Officers on duty.
Speaking to this publication, Namara identifies the UPDF Officer as General James Nambale, saying he attacked Bulucheke Police Post, beat up police officers, and took away their phones, alleging that they had failed to help him with a case he had registered.
She said Nambale attacked and beat the officers, which she described as uncalled for. She condemned his conduct, saying it is not how UPDF officers are expected to behave.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Region Police Spokesperson, confirmed the incident today Friday, June 26, 2026 when contacted, saying the case Ref. CRB 111/2026 has been registered and investigations are ongoing.
He told our reporter that he has handed over all details to the Police PRO, ACP Kituuma Rusoke, to brief the media.
