Namisindwa District leaders have, Monday, 29th June, 2026 launched rehabilitation of the 9.8-kilometer Bubutu-Magale Road.
Speaking at the launch, District Road Inspector Victor Mafumo, who represented the District Engineer, said the project involves grading and murraming the entire road. He noted that the works commenced on Monday and are expected to be completed within two weeks.
Mafumo appealed to residents to cooperate with the contractor and provide a conducive working environment to ensure quality and timely completion of the project.
The Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Elijah Madoi, emphasized the need for all stakeholders to work together in supporting government projects. He said the district leadership will continue launching public projects to promote accountability and transparency.
The LCV Chairperson, Bwayo Emma, said the entire 9.4-kilometre road will be murramed, stressing that the district’s priority is to ensure value for money through close monitoring and supervision of the works.
He explained that the Bubutu–Magale Road is a key transport route connecting four lower local governments, serving more than eight schools, two health facilities, several churches, and two major markets. He said upgrading the road will improve transport, enhance access to essential services, and boost economic activities in the district.
