The LC5 Chairperson of Namisindwa District, Emma Bwayo, has called on residents to prepare to welcome the Minister of Local Government, Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, his State Minister, Justine Nameere, and other dignitaries who are expected to visit the district on Thursday.
Bwayo made the remarks during an interview with a Mbale City Local radio on Tuesday, 14th July, 2026.
According to Bwayo, Minister Balaam will tour Namisindwa District to monitor the implementation of government projects. The Minister and his delegation are expected to arrive at 8:00 a.m., inspect various government projects, and later hold a public anti-corruption baraza at Magale’s playground starting at 4:00 p.m.
He therefore urged members of the public to turn up in large numbers and freely present their grievances, including reporting officials who have failed to implement government projects or are suspected of embezzling public funds.
Bwayo also appealed to government officials to remain at their duty stations and warned them against running away from accountability. He encouraged them to stay and explain their work to the Minister and his team, assuring them of his support where necessary.
The District Secretary for Production, Bosco Wasieba, also urged government workers to remain available during the visit and prepare reports covering the past three years. He further called on public servants to uphold transparency and accountability in the execution of their duties to avoid unnecessary tension during monitoring visits.
Minister Balaamu will be in Namisindwa on Thursday, Mbale district on Friday and Mbale City on Saturday.
