28 local government officials in three Western Uganda districts following the Minister of Local Government’s “Expose the Corrupt” campaign.
According to the Minister, Hon Barugahara Balaam Ateenyi, the affected districts are Isingiro, Buhweju and Mbarara City.
The Minister revealed this on his X-handle today, Saturday, August 8, 2026 saying the State House Anti-Corruption Agency has recommended to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, that the affected officials be interdicted to pave way for impartial investigations into alleged high-level corruption.

These interdictions are intended to allow investigations to proceed independently and without interference. The individuals listed are suspects, not convicted persons, and the investigations should establish the facts while ensuring that due process is fully observed.
