North West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson SP Collins Asea has confirmed the arrest of two suspects in connection with the alleged sale of government-issued antiretroviral (ARV) tablets in Moyo District.
According to Asea, on 19th August 2026 at 1:09 PM, the District Health Officer of Moyo District, Dr. Idi Franklin Amuli reported the incident to Moyo Police Station.
The suspects have been identified as Dragu, a 58-year-old male resident of Madagascar Village, Aluru Parish, Moyo District, and Stanislaus, a 58-year-old male of the Madi tribe from Madagascar Village, Aluru Sub-county, Moyo District.
“It is alleged that on 19th August 2026, at an unspecified location in Moyo District, the two sold government-issued ARV tablets. The exact circumstances and quantities involved are yet to be established.” Asea said
Moyo Police Station has launched an investigation into the matter, led by Officer-In-Charge, Inspector Godfrey Okello.
The probe seeks to determine the truth of the allegations, identify those involved, and establish the extent of the alleged sale of government drugs.
Members of the public with any information regarding the incident are urged to come forward and assist the police.
