A Mbale City Pastor who was on his journey to minister to a patient at Mbale Referral hospital got crashed by a South Sudan registered fuel tanker and died on the spot.

Pastor Bernard Wabomba, a resident of Busiu died yesterday, 3rd October, 2023 around midday when the Fuel tanker reg number SSD 153Q/SSDNO 286 knocked him while riding a motorcycle in a head on collision.
The Incident happened along Mbale- Tororo highway near Harred petrol station opposite Mbale police barracks.
According to Roger Taitika the Elgon region police spokesperson, the fuel tanker which was heading to Tororo from Mbale side tried to overtake a taxi which was parked alongside the road.
He adds that in the process, the driver of the fuel tanker vehicle knocked Pastor Wabomba who riding bajaji motorcycle number UFV 469L killing him instantly.
After committing the crime, the driver parked the vehicle at Uganda roads authority offices and took off.

Another boda boda rider was critically injured and was rushed to Mbale regional referral hospital with intestines oozing out.
By press time the body of boda boda rider had been taken to Mbale city mortuary for postmortem, while the injured was still receiving treatment at the same facility.
Police say that once this driver is arrested, he will be taken to court and answer charges of murder and reckless driving.
