The National Unity Platform (NUP) Party President, Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert a.k.a Bobi Wine has just been forcefully driven to his Magere home in Kampala City.

Bobi Wine who earlier today, 5th October 2023 landed at Entebbe International Airport from Johannesburg, South Africa was seen being dragged by plain clothed security personnel into a waiting white color car.

The car was later joined by a convoy of Police 99 vehicles that sped through Entebbe road towards the city center sparking off social media reports of his arrest.

However, in a brief police statement, Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert was successfully escorted by their security team from Entebbe to his home in Magere.

“He reached his home around 11.20am, and is with his family and friends. Disregard rumors of his arrest by propagandists,” the police statement reads in part.

Meanwhile, business activities and movements along Entebbe road, within Kampala and Gayaza, are flowing smoothly.

The Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson also said, “Robert Kyagulanyi, has safely returned from his overseas trip. Security agencies accompanied him to his residence in Magere.”

Onyango says police extends its appreciation to the security agencies for their efforts in maintaining the safety and security of our nation.

On Wednesday, police issued a statement warning the public against joining what the NUP supporters had called, ‘the I million man march’ to Entebbe Airport to receive their Party President.

“The Security Agencies will take all necessary measures to ensure that individuals involved in illegal activities (the March) are arrested and brought before the courts of law,” reads yesterday’s police warning.
