The Busoga Kingdom has responded to a petition against the impending wedding of the Kyabazinga of Busoga, H.H William Gabula Nadiope IV and Ms. Inhebantu, Jovia Mutesi.
The response is contained in a press statement released today, 11th November, 2023 by the Katukiro, Busoga Kingdom, Joseph Muvawala.
According to Muvawala, the letter authored by Mugerwa and Company Advocates does not only contain false information but is defamatory as well.
Muvawala says the Kingdom has since contacted the Archbishop Church of Uganda who acknowledges receipt of the letter but without a copy of the marriage certificate attached.
Muvawala denies almost everything in the Mugerwa Advocates letter saying, “Nadiope has never been married to anyone under the known forms of marriage in Uganda and elsewhere, has never sired any children, and the purported Alison Anne Gabula is not known to him.”
He says consequently, the Kingdom has reported the malicious and defamatory occurrences to police which has since commenced investigations.
He assures all Basoga and Ugandans at large that the wedding scheduled for 18th November 2023 will go on as planned.
