A Uganda Peoples Defence Forces military helicopter has this afternoon, Tuesday, 2nd January, 2024 crashed in Nyamisigiri Village, Kicwamba Sub-county, Kabarole District.
Eyewitnesses say the UPDF helicopter was headed to DR Congo after taking off from Ssaka Airfield in Kicwamba Sub-county.
Before the crash, the helicopter apparently hit a house rooftop, going into flames before it was reduced to ashes.
Maj Naboth Mugisha the spokesperson of the UPDF Air Force says the Helicopter crash that occurred at about 2:30pm today, was purely an accident. “The details of what could have happened are yet to be gotten,” said Majugisha
