A 24 year old resident of Foda village, Bukirya Parish, Nalusala Sub County in Sironko district is currently on the run after killing and chopping wife’s body into pieces.
The suspect, Jackson Wadenga is said to have found his wife, Loy Mugide aged 21 talking to another man on Christmas eve at night at Bukirya corner trading center.
According to Herbert Musika, the Nalusala Sub County District Councilor, when the wife went back home, Wadenga hit her on the head using a hammer, killing her on the spot.
Musika also adds that after confirming that Mugide is dead, he cut the body into two pieces, carried them in the sack and threw them in a nearby stream known as Nagwe.
It was children grazing animals on Tuesday, 2nd January, 2024, who discovered the decomposed pieces and alerted community members who informed Police who in turn took the body to Mbale city mortuary for postmortem.
Ephraim Denis Balwaniregha, the Sironko Resident District Commissioner has confirmed the incident saying Wadenga is currently on the run.
He urged married people not to take the law into their hands saying that they should seek local leaders or police to solve their matters.
