The suspended Deputy Resident City Commissioner Rubaga Division has today, 28th March, 2024 tendered in a resignation letter titled ‘early retirement.’

In the letter addressed to President Museveni, Anderson Burora highlights events that preceded his suspension where he points at a meeting held between Rt. Hon. Anitah Among, the Speaker of Uganda’s Parliament and President Museveni.

Burora says the meeting held on the 13th March, 2024 discussed his attacks on the Speaker both on Social and Mainstream media and that the following day, 14th March, 2024 he was suspended allegedly on instructions of the President.

Burora says, he had been forced to apologize to the Speaker and henceforth stop the negative attacks as a precondition for stopping the disciplinary action against him, something he refused to do and continues to refuse.

According to Burora, proof of the Speaker’s involvement was that his suspension letter was copied to the Speaker.

Burora who says that since his suspension was related to utterances against corruption, his continued holding of office will draw public mistrust.

He therefore requests the President to retire him from service so that he does not continue bringing disrepute to the office of the President.
