Inzu Yamasaba Constitutes Burial Committee for Fallen Wamimbi, Umukuka I

Masaba Cultural Institution has today, 15th April, 2024 put in place the official committee which is going to handle the burial ceremony of the late Wamimbi Weyasa, the first cultural leader (Umukuka).

 

Wamimbi died on Friday last week at 8.pm from Kiruddu hospital located in Kampala Capital City after battling with pneumonia for over a year.

 

The committees are; Construction committee led by Engineer Nangosha, Finance $ planning committee led by Ambassador Walimbwa Peke assisted by LCV Manafwa Mr Kigai Kimono, and Commissioner David Womayi,.

 

Order of Service and report writing including biography has Prime Minister Charles Walimbwa Peke, Bishop Gidudu, Kutoi Moses and Daughter of the late. Meanwhile, Co-optation of members was allowed.

 

Events management has Masaba Paul as Chairman, First aid committee to be managed by Dr. JB Woniaye, Dr Rubanza of Uganda police and Mr Womalwa Augustine of Elgon Scouts Association.

  

Security committee is led by RDC Mbale, Nasikye Asumani assisted by RCC Mbale, Rex Aachila, RDC Ahamada Washaki of Kumi and Shilaku James, Wopuwa George and all District Police Commanders in the region

 

Catering committee has Wilson Watira as chairman assisted by Mathias Nabutele and Filster Magomu.

  

Transport committee is headed by Engineer Nangosha Muliro, Mansa musa and others while Protocol committee is headed by James Mututa of the office of the Vice President.

 Other members are Namuwenge Ritah and Mubuya Gordwin.

 

Committee chairman coordinating the Ministry of Gender and office of the president is Hon. Gidudu Mafabi Minister of state for Gender and elderly.

  

Publicity committee has Steven Masiga as Chairman assisted by Difasi Wabuyi and Hon Justine Khainza.

 

Treasurer of the program is Dr JB Woniaye while the Church committee to be designated by the Bishop Mbale Diocese His Grace Wilson Nandah.

  

Speaking to this publication, the Umukuka III Jude Mudoma said that the body is still currently in Kampala and is expected to reach Mbale tomorrow, Tuesday 16th April, 2024.

 

He says the tentative burial program is as follows; Wednesday morning, Public viewing of the body in Sironko district local government by the Mwambu clan.

 

Then in the afternoon on Wednesday, the body of the late Umukuka Emiritus’ body will be taken to Manafwa District Local Government Council offices for viewing by local leaders and the community, adding that Manafwa will serve as a central viewing point for Mubuya clan.

 

Later on Thursday, the body will be at Mbale District Local Government for viewing by the Wanale clan and then the burial will take place on Saturday at his ancestral home located at Busano Sub County in Mbale district.

 

Mudoma says that all government or public utilities and offices have to fly flags at half mast until burial day.
