President Museveni Sees Off 5 Retired UPDF Generals

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who is also the Commander in Chief (CiC) of the armed forces has today seen off five UPDF Generals that have retirement from active service.

 

President Museveni applauded the five Generals; Fred Tolit, Eugene Ssebugwawo, Emmanuel Rwashande, Jesse Kamunwanire, and Max Gumisiriza at a retirement ceremony held today, 27th April, 2024 at State House Entebbe.

 

The President said that the officers can now retire in a time of peace, free from the internal conflicts that plagued armies before the NRA.

 

“Their retirement signifies a transition to peace, with the eradication of the culture of division (politics of Identity) due to the stability provided by the NRM’s strong ideology,” says President Museveni.

 

He extended his gratitude the retiring Generals for their dedicated service and commitment and wished them good luck as they return to their communities.

 

Maj Gen Tolit is the former Defence Adviser of Uganda in South Africa, Brig Gen Ssebugwawo was Coordinator of Disaster Preparedness at the Office of the Prime Minister, Brig Gen Rwashande was UPDF Chief of Civil-Military Cooperation, Brig Gen Kamunanwire was serving under Uganda Police as HRM Director while Brig Gumisiriza formally served Commandant of Peace Support Centre Singo.
