The Kampala Police metropolitan has issued traffic guidelines ahead of the June 3rd 2024 Martyrs Day Celebrations at Namugongo.

The Traffic update issued on Wednesday, 29th May, 2024 includes a number of diversions with the road from Kyaliwajjala to Sonde reserved for pedestrians only. The traffic guides came into effect on the night of 29th May.

According to Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, all Motorists are diverted as follows; Motorists using Seeta – Sonde Road will be diverted at Catholic Mbalwa Road junction and they will come out at Agenda 2000 while Motorists from Nalya to Kyaliwajjala will be diverted at Kyaliwajjala junction and they will use Semambro Road.

He says that Motorists from Kireka to Kyaliwajjala will be diverted at Agenda 2000 and they will use Mbalwa Road while Motorists from Jinja heading to Capital City should drive direct to City centre and should NOT use Seeta – Namugongo Road.

“The diversion will be in place up to 3rd June, 2024,” says Onyango advising motorists to plan journeys early because traffic jam is expected around the areas of Namugongo.

The traffic guidelines were arrived at in a meeting held on Site at the Anglican Worship Center involving all security Agencies.
