Fifteen Senior State Attorneys who have been in this position for the last 9 years have received an accelerated promotion to Chief State Attorneys.
This is revealed in a press statement issued by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) today, 10th June, 2024
According to ODPP, the fifteen are; Jacqueline Okui, Nelly Asiku, Cate Basuuta, Irene Nakimbugwe, David Baxter Bakibinga and Richard Muhereza.
Others are; Josephine Aryong, Safina Bireke, Annet Janet Nabulobi, Innocent Obale, Amuza Muzige, and Charlotte Kwikiriza.
Promoted also are Danx Julius Tuhaire, Sarah Sheron Nambuya and Jackline Kyasimire.
The 15 are now expected to help regional ODPP offices in handling day to day administrative duties including directing the police to investigate issues of a criminal nature.
They are also charged with prosecuting Appeal cases at the High Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme court.
