A renowned witch doctor of Kongatuny village in Kachumbala Sub County in Bukedea district has ordered the Anglican church believers to burn his shrines into ashes as a measure to end witchcraft in society.
Francis Eminat first signed a consent agreement with the Anglican Church to demolish his shrines before they were set ablaze on Friday, 5th July, 2024.
William Ogwang, the Kongatuny Local Council One Chairperson says the shrines were burnt as the family members experienced uncontrolled sicknesses.
Sarah Ademun, the witch doctor’s wife, says the destruction of the shrines was the family’s decision.
Moses Elungat together with some of the community members who witnessed the destruction of the shrines says the community equally has been disturbed by the witches.
However, Eminat after signing a consent agreement with the church to demolish his shrines disappeared.
