Passport and Visa services at the Ministry of Internal Affairs headquarters have temporarily shut-down due to an internet breakdown.
In a press statement dated Tuesday, 3rd December, 2024, the Ministry says these services have been affected because of a fibre cut resulting from the ongoing works on Old Portbell Road.
“This disruption has affected Passport and Visa related services as Passport applicants are temporarily unable to access Passport Portal or receive services for personalization and interviews,” reads the statement in part.
Personalization of resident facilities such as work permits and student passes are also not available at the Ministry headquarters.
However, similar services can be accessed at the Ministry offices across the country. E-Visa Portal has not been affected and continues to function normally.
The Ministry is not certain of the date when these services will resume at the headquarter offices but says relevant authorities are ‘working diligently to restore full services as soon as possible.’
