Contrary to today’s early morning news that the Kawempe North Member of Parliament, Hon. Ssegirinya Muhammad is dead, doctors attending to him say he is only brain dead with most of his organs shut down.
Speaking to the Media at about 10:30AM today, Thursday, January 09, 2025, the Leader of Opposition, Joel Ssenyonyi says they rushed to Rubaga hospital upon receiving the sad news of Ssegirinya’s death but got different news.
He says Doctors though not very positive about his chances of living told them that the ailing legislator still has a small pulse aided by a vent.
“According to them, (Doctors), professionally, they cannot declare him dead because he still has a pulse however, small it is,” says Ssenyonyi.
This was confirmed by Sr. Dr. Grace Nannyondo, Acting Director of Lubaga Hospital who says Hon. Ssegirinya Muhammad is critically sick but they can’t declare him dead.
The earlier news was broken by Ssegirinya’s own mother after she was told her son was brain dead.
