Suspected armed robbers have shot to death a Uganda Wildlife Officer while on official duty.
According to a brief statement by UWA, Sgt Ngabirano Charles, was shot on the night of 23rd January, 2025 by armed people while he was on patrol with his colleagues in Kyaruhinda within Lake Mburo National Park.
Sgt Ngabrano’s death follows a similar incident at Kidepo National Park.
By the time of filing this story, police was yet to give an official statement regarding the fatal shooting and progress of investigations.
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sgt Ngabirano Charles, who was shot last night by armed people while he was on patrol with his colleagues in Kyaruhinda within Lake Mburo National Park. Our sympathies go to his family during this sad time. May his soul RIP.” Reads UWA statement issued today, 24th January, 2025.
