BUDAKA
A tragic incident has unfolded in Budaka District, where a decomposing body of a boda boda rider, Paul Munyole, 31 years of age was discovered in a nearby bush on Monday, 17th February, 2025.
Munyole had gone missing three days prior, and his motorcycle, registration number UGA 188/D Bajaj Boxer, was robbed on Saturday night.
According to Moses Kitiyo, the Bukedi North Region Police Commander, Munyole was attacked and killed by unknown assailants at Nansemye village on Saturday night.
He says that relatives reported his disappearance to the police, who, along with locals, launched a search operation that ultimately led to the discovery of his body at Nansemye cell in Budaka town council.
Kitiyo stated that the locals notified Fresto Sisye, the chairman of the boda boda riders in Budaka District, who informed the police before the body was recovered.
The body was then conveyed to Budaka Health Center IV for a postmortem examination. Statements were recorded from relevant witnesses, and a warrant was drafted and sent to the crime department.
He says preliminary findings indicate that Munyole’s body was found with deep head injuries, suggesting that he was hit to death before his motorcycle was robbed. The police are currently investigating the incident, and inquiries are ongoing.
