The anticipated bail application for opposition Activists, the Kampala Deputy Lord Mayor Doreen Nyanjura, Ingrid Turinawe and others scheduled for today, Tuesday, 25th February, 2025 has flopped.
The group that was arrested last week for protesting the continued incarceration of Rtd Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye were scheduled to appear before the Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court today for bail application.
However, in an interesting twist, the prison authorities failed to produce the group to court.
According to the Chief Magistrate, the group insisted that they could only come to court when dressed in T-shirts with political slogans which the Prison authorities declined to permit.
Efforts to convince the group to put on other attires feel to deaf ears with the Nyanjura group insisting they could only present themselves on the T-shirts or naked.
