Mbale Senior Secondary School is gearing up to celebrate its 75th anniversary.
The head teacher, Moses Buyela, announced this during a press conference on Saturday, 8th March, 2025 saying the celebration will take place on June 3rd.
He says various activities, including a marathon, drama, planting trees at the school, opening science laboratory, singing, among others are planned, with the President expected to be the chief guest.
Mbale Resident City Commissioner, Asumin Nasike, praised Mbale Secondary School as one of the pioneering government secondary schools in the Bugisu region, known for its excellent performance.
He confirmed that the President has accepted the invitation to attend the celebration.
Uthman Mugoya, Chairperson of the Mbale Secondary School Old Students Association, encouraged alumni to join in the celebration, highlighting the school’s impressive track record of producing influential individuals across the country.
The school was founded in 1950 by colonialists.
