The Katabi Miruka Tournament climaxed on Saturday March 8, 2025 with Kisubi FC winning the tournament. Kisubi FC beat Kabale FC 3-1 to claim the trophy. Prior to the football match, there was a bicycle cycling race and the winner was awarded a new modern bicycle.
Winners of Kisubi FC received cash prize worth Shs.1.5 million plus gold medals while their competitor of Kabale FC got silver medals.
The tournament organizer, Ronald Kalema Basamulekkere awarded all the participating teams with Jerseys and balls.
Kabale FC dominated the game in the second half but unfortunately were not clinical enough unlike their opponent of Kisubi FC.
In the first half time, Kisubi FC led 2-1 and sealed the game with an early goal in the second half.
The tournament was attended by National Unity Platform (NUP) politicians including George William Kakooza Musisi who didn’t shake hands with Mayor Ronald Kalema Basamulekkere whom he intends to unseat after NUP leadership unanimously agreed to back him to carry the party flag in the 2026 mayoral polls.
