In a tragic incident, a boda boda rider identified as Isabirye aged between 27-28yrs and a tenant on Katende Triangle Ward, Jinja City Northern Division, Bugembe Town Council has committed suicide after setting fire on his wife known as Mama Namunana aged between 20 – 22 years and her baby aged 9 months old killing them on spot.
It is said Isabirye after realizing that the wife and baby had died committed suicide by hanging in the very room at about 12am today, Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
Kisambira Muhammad, Isabirye’s landlord and a resident of Katende Triangle Ward, stated that he had been demanding rent from Isabirye for over three months, but the boda boda rider had failed to pay. He also mentioned that the tragic incident occurred after a misunderstanding between the couple.
Rajab Kasule, the defense rSecretary of Katende Triangle Ward, has urged men to work hard and seek advice from elders in case of any misunderstandings at home. He also advised young women to marry at the right age to avoid conflicts in their homes.
Bu the time of filing this story, the police had not yet given any report about the incident but the bodies were taken to Jinja Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem.
