The police in Rwampara District have arrested Kyomugyemo Dinavence, a 53-year-old resident of Kaaya cell, Ngugo parish, Bugamba Sub County, in connection with the alleged murder of her husband, Byakatonda Geresiano.
According to preliminary reports, Byakatonda left their home on March 16, 2025, saying he was going to church, but his body was discovered the next day at around 7:30 am by students on their way to school.
The body was found in eucalyptus trees along the Binyuga-Munyere road in Kaaya cell.
According to a Police statement dated Tuesday, 18th March, 2025, when a sniffer dog named Hector was brought to the scene, it led the police to the deceased’s home, where they found an abandoned iron bar with bloodstains in the compound.
Further investigation revealed a white mosquito net with bloodstains hidden under a bed.
“The police have established that the deceased had misunderstandings with his wife, and inquiries and investigations are ongoing,” reads the statement in part.
