KAMULI
Police in Kamuli have arrested one Jonan Balisanyuka for allegedly causing the death of a 15-year-old pupil.
The deceased has been identified as Bakaki Mathias, a student at Five Star Nursery and Primary School in Luzinga. The incident occurred at Kibeto-Buyima Zone, Luzinga Parish, Wankoole Sub-county, Kamuli District.
ASP Michael Kasadha stated that initial findings indicate that on March 19, 2025, at around 5:00 p.m, Bakaki was returning from school with friends.
On their way, they encountered a heap of sugar cane under the watch of Balisanyuka. When the children attempted to take some cane to eat, Balisanyuka chased them, but Bakaki did not run away. The suspect then assaulted Bakaki, causing him to fall unconscious.
Bakaki was rushed to a nearby clinic, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Michael Kasadha confirmed that further investigations are ongoing to establish more facts.
