Namisindwa District Local Government has received 1.8 billion shillings to construct Mukoto Seed Secondary School.

This revelation was made by Jackson Wakwaika, the Namisindwa District LCV Chairperson, during a phone interview on Tuesday, 25th March, 2025.

According to Wakwaika, the funds were released by the Ministry of Education in the 2024/25 financial year. He confirmed that a contractor has been hired, and construction work has commenced at the site.

Wakwaika urged the community to support the project, emphasizing its potential to boost education standards in the area.

Sophie Namutosi, the Acting District Education Officer, says there are plans to secure additional funding for Tsekululu Seed School.

Residents Peter Wetaya and Sarah Busikwa expressed their gratitude for the new school, citing the challenges their children faced in accessing secondary education due to long distances.

They noted that this situation had put the education of the girl child at risk.
