Government intends to establish a petrol-based Industrial Park in Hoima Kabaale.
This was revealed by the Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi while addressing the media about Cabinet resolutions at Uganda Media Center today, Tuesday, 8th April, 2025.
Baryomunis says the Park will be situated where the Airport is being constructed and it shall be called Kabaale Petrol-Based Industrial Park.
“And we’re just determining the service fees which will be charged by those who will be putting their investments,” he says.
He also reveals that Cabinet approved a figure of $1.5 per square meter a year for those who will be establishing general industries and commercial premises.
“This figure was arrived at benchmarking exercises in various countries where there are industrial parks that have been established, and the figure compares favorably with what is charged elsewhere,” he says.
The Government of Uganda acquired 2,957 hectares of land in Kabaale Parish, Busekera Sub-County, Hoima District for development of the petro-based industrial park, referred to as Kabaale Industrial Park.
The phased project includes: Uganda’s second international airport, crude oil export pipeline hub, oil refinery, warehousing and logistics, polymer and fertiliser industries and agro-processors.
