Namisindwa district local government has in an interesting turn of events resolved to re-advertise the heads of department vacancies.
In early April, 2025, Namisindwa district local government advertised seven positions of heads of departments like District engineer, Production officer, agriculture Officer, district Planner, CFO, Principal internal auditor and district health officer (DHO).
The applicants were shortlisted and interviews were supposed to have kicked off early last week. However, this didn’t happen after Technical Personnel from the Ministry of Public Service who were supposed to facilitate the interviews failed to turn up over unknown reasons.
While speaking to our reporter in an exclusive interview on Sunday, 13th April, 2025, Grace Watuwa Namukhula, the district service commission Chairperson revealed that they sat as a district executive last week and resolved to re- advertise the vacancies.
She says that they resolved to re- advertise the head of department vacancies following irregularities they noticed among the shortlisted applicants that include lacking the requisite qualifications and experience.
Namukhula says that those who were shortlisted will not be asked to re-apply adding that the advert is going to come out in the national newspapers this week.
