Hon. Jane Scholastic Najjemba Baguma alias Muzabibu Maama Entebbe, who was heavily defeated in the just concluded party primaries for Entebbe Municipality Member of Parliament NRM flagbearer has disputed the outcome of the election results.

Hon. Scholastic Najjemba who became second in the race to Hon. Stephen Shyaka Ghasaija, said the Party primaries were marred with a lot of impunity and irregularities.

She noted that though democracy is one of the core principles of NRM, for Entebbe Municipality, the party leadership did the opposite.

Hon. Najjemba revealed that the five polling centers where she expected to sweep all the votes, is where her voters were intimidated by armed security forces while other voters plus her polling agents were allegedly bribed to vote for Hon. Stephen Shyaka Gashaija who was eventually announced winner by the party Registrar, Paul Wasike.

The party primary results indicate that Hon. Stephen Shyaka Gashaija garnered 4,175 votes to win the party ticket followed by Scholastica Jane Najjemba with 467 votes and Jovia Namara in third place with 192 votes out of 21,507 registered voters in Entebbe Municipality NRM yellow book.

In these remarks Hon. Scholastica Najjemba Baguma alias Muzabibu explained the irregularities that cost her election victory:

“To our president and NRM leadership. I thank all of you for participating in the just concluded party primaries held on July 18, 2025, “Hon. Najjemba expressed gratitude to NRM supporters.

‘ As a stronger supporter of NRM party , I’m committed to our party core principles including patriotism, Pan- Africanism, Social economic transformation and democracy.  However, I strongly condemn acts of intimidation, beating NRM supporters, bribing voters and polling agents with money at polling stations. we observed these dirty acts in some polling stations like Kigungu, Mayanzi,  Kiwafu East , Kiwafu central,  Lugonjo among others. This is  against NRM core principles and the electoral process.

‘I’m sorry for whoever was affected by these acts of irregularities that happened at the said polling stations, and such acts are unacceptable and undermine the foundation of our democracy and party values, ” Hon. Najjemba expressed her displeasure.

‘ To all my amazing supporters stay calm and maintain peace.  Iam always with you. This is not the end but the Beginning. Please continue with our campaigns and continue looking for votes in the coming elections. Soon I will be communicating my next move,” Hon. Scholastic Najjemba assured her supporters.

Meanwhile, Hon. Jovia Namara Tugume who tailed in the party primaries after garnering only 192 votes, has conceded defeat and thanked all her supporters who supported her and urged them to back the party flag bearer Hon. Stephen Shyaka Gashaija.
