An inmate remanded for murdering his mother has killed a fellow prisoner at Masindi government Prison.
According to a press statement issued today 4th August, 2025 by the Prisons Service Spokesperson, SCP Frank Baine, the incident happened on Sunday 3rd August, 2025 at approximately 4:00AM.
Baine says remand prisoner, Anatoli Irumba charged with the murder of his mother assaulted convicted prisoner, Moses Tuhame charged with aggravated defilement causing fatal injuries.
He says the assault took place at the TB Isolation Ward where both were staying.
“After the attack, the victim was rushed to Masindi Hospital but passed on a few hours later,” says Baine.
He says police has already taken over the matter and that the body will be handed over to the relatives for burial after a postmortem examination.
