Longtime Commandant of the Kaweweta Training School, Brig Gen Bonny Wolimbwa succumbed to kidney failure, according to his friend, Tonny Owana.
Revealing the cause of death, Owana posted on X that:
GEN WOLIMBWA FALLS!
Brig Gen Bonny Wolimbwa of Kaweweta @MODVA_UPDF Trg Sch has fallen to kidney failure. I thank @MODVA_UPDF for the work we did with Gen Bonny at Singo “Peace Factory” & with recruits at Kaweweta.
According to other sources, Wolimbwa died in the early hours of Thursday, 21st August, 2025 at Victoria Hospital in Kampala.
Mourning the fallen General, Col Deo Akiiki posted thus;
“Very sad moment indeed for the UPDF family, Joint Staff Doctrine and training (JS TRADOC), the Family of the fallen Gen, for the loss of Brig Gen Bonny Wolimbwa. A seasoned military trainer in whose hands many of us passed. Indeed life is finite and very short!. Fare thee well.”
