In a spirited confirmation and blessing ceremony held at Manjasi High School, on Wednesday, 1st October, 2025, Rt. Rev. Bishop Samuel Bogere Egesa, the Bishop of Bukedi Diocese, delivered a message that resonated with students, educators, and parents alike. His address touched on key issues affecting education, spiritual integrity, and community development.

Speaking as both a religious leader and an educator, Bishop Egesa expressed his support for the ongoing teachers’ industrial action. However, he called for a balanced approach, urging teachers to dedicate half of each 40-minute lesson—20 minutes—to learners, while reserving the remaining time for their cause.

“Let us not forget our duty to the children even as we fight for our rights,” he said.

To candidates preparing for national examinations, the bishop offered words of caution and encouragement. He warned against false religious leaders who demand money to “commission” students before exams, calling such practices exploitative and misleading.

“Focus on your studies and seek genuine spiritual guidance,” he advised.

In a gesture of commitment to education and infrastructure, Bishop Egesa pledged 20 bags of cement toward the construction of a wall fence at Manjasi High School. He emphasized the importance of securing learning environments and called on parents to actively support church-founded schools.

The event also featured a presentation from Major Ali Kazora, who represented Colonel Yusuf Magero Buha, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of Wazalendo SACCO. Major Kazora reaffirmed the SACCO’s commitment to community development through its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

“We are privileged to sponsor Manjasi High School with two stainless steel 5000 liter water tanks as part of our social corporate responsibility. This builds discipline, teamwork, and strengthens the bond within the UPDF,” he said.

The visit was marked by a blend of spiritual inspiration and practical action, reinforcing the church’s and SACCO’s roles in shaping both moral and academic excellence
