The National Unity Platform, (NUP) Party Flagbearer for Igara East County MP in Bushenyi District has withdrawn from the race.
Counsel Tumukunde Joshua communicated his decision to withdraw from the race to his Party President, Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert in a letter dated Thursday, 16th October, 2025.
Tumukunde who also held the Flag in the last elections, attributes his decision to financial constraints.
“I was dully given the party flag to represent and stand as the National Unity Platform flag bearer for Igara East County in Bushenyi District. However, I regret to inform you that am unable to proceed with this candidature due to financial constraints,” writes Tumukunde.
He also thanks the Party leadership for entrusting him with the flag in 2021 adding, “Unfortunately for the 2026 race, I have realized that am unable to continue to the end.”
Tumukunde however, promises to continue being a loyal party cadre offering free legal services to political prisoners across the country.
