Suspected armed robbers have shot dead the OC Ntawo Police Post located at Mukono Central Division, Mukono Municipality.
The fatal confrontation that led to the death of ASP Emma Bagenda occurred on Sunday night, 23rd November, 2025 at Ntawo Cell, Mukono Municipality.
According to ACP Kituuma Rusoke, the Police Spokesperson, the officer had received intelligence that there were robbers travelling on a motorcycle who had robbed unspecified amount of money at Kiwala village in Mukono and together with a junior went to intercept the suspects.
The suspects however, opened fire on them, fatally shooting ASP Bagenda and wounding the other junior officer. The thieves also made off with the deceased’s rifle,
According to reports, Bagenda and his team were attempting to stop individuals traveling on a motorcycle at around 10:20pm when the suspects allegedly opened fire.
Authorities have launched investigations to identify and apprehend the assailants.
Local law enforcement officials have appealed for public cooperation in providing information that could lead to the capture of those responsible.
