A Police Canine Unit in Tororo CPS known as Vegas has become the number one enemy of thieves in Bukedi sub region.
His latest achievement was the arrest of a one Isaac Mudoba who allegedly stole 3 heads of cattle from the herd of a one Yokosan Mulongo, a resident of Bunghumu South, Busolwe Sub County on Wednesday night, 17th December, 2025.
After Mudoba’s arrest, angry residents now tired of the cattle theft vice in the area, descended on him with intentions of lynching and burning his home on Thursday, 18th December. Police however, disappointed the rowdy mob by firing teargas and live bullets dispersing hundreds of angry residents in the process.
Prior to this, Mulongo, reported his case at Busolwe Police Station on Thursday morning, and the Butaleja DPC, Jackson Maumbe, swung into action and called upon the Tororo regional Police and Vegas controlled by Mr. Michael Bijuho was brought for action.
Vegas, in its search led the police into Isaac Mudoba’s house.
The angry residents immediately wanted to burn the home, and kill whoever belongs to the household including the suspect but police fired Teargas and live bullets in the air and saved all.
Samuel Waire and Peter Zeyi, residents from the same area say they wanted to lynch the suspect because he has over disturbed the area.
They urged police to improve on patrolling the area such that cattle theft can be reduced as they head to the festive season.
Mudoba, was arrested and is currently being detailed at Butaleja central police station as investigations continue.
