National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate Wanyama Judas Thadeo has been declared winner of the Eastern Regional Youth representative Parliament race following a landslide victory in the 2026 election hosted at IUIU, Mbale city on Wednesday, 28th January, 2026.
According to the Eastern Region Returning Officer, Deo Natukunda, Wanyama secured 1174votes, the highest among six candidates.
He defeated Timothy Kivunike Kadaga (Independent), who garnered 497 votes, and Omaria Emmanuel (Independent) with 438 votes.
Other candidate in the race: Masawi Ivan (FDC), 19 votes, Wanduka Simon Gyabi (NUP), 09 votes while Nambozo Josephine (Independent) got none.
A total of valid votes were cast 2173 as Wanyama was officially declared winner under Section 77(1) of the Parliament election Act.
