Tororo police have launched investigations into the sudden death of 62-year-old Kamya Ronnie, a resident of Kachonga A in Butaleja District and a bus driver at Busitema University.
Kamya’s lifeless body was discovered in the morning hours of Wdnesday, 11th February 2026 at Burar Petrol Station along the Tororo–Mbale highway under circumstances that remain unclear.
According to preliminary police findings, officers retrieved the body from the scene and transported it to the mortuary for a postmortem examination before handing it over to the family.
Bukedi South Regional Police spokesperson, Moses Mugwe confirmed the incident and appealed to members of the public with any information to cooperate with police to aid investigations.
“We urge residents to remain vigilant and strengthen neighborhood watch initiatives to help curb crime in their communities,” Mugwe emphasized.
The discovery has left residents shocked, with many calling for heightened security measures along the busy highway.
Police say investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of death and bring clarity to the tragic incident.
