Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited, (UEDCL) has released a planned shutdown and routine maintenance schedule for March, 2026.
According to the schedule, the Systems Improvements and routine maintenance shall cause shutdowns in most of the affected areas.
This Publication has picked the affected areas in Eastern Uganda, and the nature of the works.
On Thursday 05th March 2026, there will be Vegetation Clearance, and Pole Replacement affecting the Industrial Park, Mbale City Substation. The areas that will have a shutdown are; Kumi, Bukedea, Sironko, Kolir, Muyembe, Kapchorwa, Nabongo, Buyaga, and Buginyanya.
On Wednesday 11th March 2026 at Soroti Substation, there will be 3 Structures Replacement affecting Kumi Town, Ongino TC, and Kanapa TC.
Thursday 12th March 2026 at Bulangira Substation, there will be Line Clearance, Pole Replacement & Replumbing affecting Pallisa, Nangayiza, Butebo Tc, Petete, Kachomo Kaderuna, Kanyomo Village, Kibale, Oladot, Gogonyo, Agule, Kasodo, Kameke, and Kamuge.
Friday 13th March 2026 at Tororo Main Station, there shall be Rotten Pole Replacement and Vegetation Clearance affecting Majanji Road, Lumino, Butangazi, Manjaji, and Namayingo.
Friday 13th March 2026 at Nile Breweries Substation, there shall be Routine Maintenance of Switchgear & PWTX Leakage curing affecting Nile Breweries, UEAWU offices, Warid mast, Kasanja zone, lower Mbiko, Njeru triangle, Namwezi rd, Wampala zone, Kyabagu zone, and Njeru Industrial park.
Friday 13th March 2026 still at Nile Breweries Substation, there shall be Jumper repairs affecting Lower Mbiiko, Namwezi, Nakibizi, GM sugar, and UEB Union.
Friday 13th March 2026 at Iganga UETCL, there shall be Vegetation Management, Jumper Repairs, Insulator Replacement, and Pole Replacements affecting Musita, Mayuge, Iganga Cms, Bulanga, and Kiyunga.
Tuesday 17th March 2026 at Jinja Industrial Substation, there shall be Vegetation Management affecting Kiira Ev Vehicle Plant.
Wednesday 18th March 2026 at Soroti Substation, there shall be Ocaapa NWSC T-Off Replacement, H Structure Replumbing and Line Or Phase Re-Enforcement at Kadok affecting Serere Town.
Tuesday 10th March 2026 at Iki Iki Substation, there shall be Line Clearance & Pole Replumbing, Jumper Repairs, and T-Off Protection affecting Ikiiki Tc, Kakoro Tc, Kanyinima Tc, and Namiyembe Village.
Saturday 07th March 2026 at Iganga UETCL, there shall be Rotten Mv Pole Replacements at Imanyiro and Katwe affecting Musita – Mayuge, Mayuge – Nankoma, Mayuge- Bwondha.
Saturday 07th March 2026 still at Iganga UETCL, there shall be Vegetation Management, T-Off Works by Smart Cable affecting Busoga Forestry, Nkombe, and Imanyiro.
Thursday 05th March 2026 at Moroto Substation, there shall be Rotten Poles Replacements, Rotten Poles and Tx Maintenance and Conductors Restraining on Kanusalaba affecting Nakapiripirit, Amudat, and Nabilatuk.
