NAMISINDWA: Eight Arrested in Connection with Murder of 7-Year-Old Boy

Police in Namisindwa district have arrested eight people suspected of involvement in the murder of a 7-year-old boy.

 

The boy’s body was found dumped on a path in Kuzuyi village, Bunamulunyi parish, Mukoto sub-county, on Sunday, 8th March, 2026.

 

The victim was wrapped in clothes and discovered by locals. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death while the suspects are being held as investigations continue.

 

Among those arrested are James Bitayi, Sam Wamono, and Khariate Khamuka, among others from Kuzuyi village, Bunamulunyi parish, Mukoto sub-county who are neighbors to the deceased. The eight were arrested after a police sniffer dog which was introduced to the scene of crime led police officers to their respective homes.

 

According to residents who spoke to our reporter today, Tuesday, the boy’s body was taken for a postmortem and later released to his parents for burial.

 

Rogers Taitika, Elgon region police spokesperson, declined to comment, saying he hadn’t been briefed on the matter.
