At least five people have been confirmed dead while others were severely injured in an accident in Rweikiniro sub county Ruhaama constituency in Ntungamo District. The incident occurred today March 23, 2026, at 9am at Kagongi, Kayenje, Rweikiniro Sub County in Ntungamo District.
According to the police, three people died instantly while the two died on their way to Itojo hospital.
Eye witnesses said that the Fuso lorry registration number UAT 371G was overloaded with traders and their goods from Ntungamo Town heading to Kayenje weekly market before its driver who fled the scene lost control and it rammed into a banana plantation.
