Shock befell residents of Busungire village in Galiraya sub county, Kayunga District following a tragic incident of domestic violence after a man allegedly murdered his wife before taking his own life.
The deceased have been identified as Florence Nakandi and Yakubu Senyiwa.
Kayunga Deputy RDC, Trevour Solomon Baleke confirmed the incident on Tuesday the 24th March 2026 saying the two were last seen on Sunday evening, March 22, 2026 taking alcohol together.
“Their son got concerned after spending a day without seeing them. He informed other relatives who went to their house and found the deceased in a pool of blood while the suspect’s lifeless body was also hanging on a rope,” said Baleke.
By the time of filing this story police had retrieved both bodies and taken them to Kayunga hospital morgue for postmortem and further inquiries have been launched to establish the actual cause of the incident and if there are other persons involved.
