KAMPALA
Police at Nateete are holding a 34-year,-old woman for torturing a 10-year-old primary four boy.
The incident occurred in Kanaala Zone, Mutundwe Parish, Bunamwaya Division, Wakiso District.
The suspect has been identified as Nankunda Esther, a resident of the above-mentioned area.
It is alleged that the suspect had been entrusted with the care of the child by her brother.
Racheal Kawala, the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson says preliminary findings indicate that on Eid Day, 20th March 2026, the suspect allegedly burnt the victim’s hands using a heated white polythene bag, accusing him of stealing money amounting to shilling 100,000.
The victim has since been rescued and medically examined as the suspect is currently in police custody pending court proceedings.
Kawala strongly condemns acts of child abuse and torture.
