KAMPALA
Police has recovered four stolen motorcycles in an intelligence led opearion carried out in Kikaaya Village, Ssumbwe Parish, Wakiso District.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokespersn, SP Rachael Kawala’s statement issued today, Thursday, 16th April, 2026, the recovered motorcycles are; UMA 594BT, UEW 155H, UEK 013F, and UER 546H, all Bajaj Boxer models.
Kawala says the operation followed Following a case of motorcycle theft reported on 13/04/2026 at about 2000hrs, involving motorcycle registration number UMA 594BT, stolen from a boda boda rider, and a resident of Nalya Nansese Village, Lugyo Parish, Muduuma Sub-County in Mpigi District.
She says that during the operation conducted in Kikaaya Village, Ssumbwe Parish, Wakiso District, Police in Wakiso arrested eight (08) suspects in connection with the offence leading to the recovery of the four motorcycles.
One of the suspects, Bukenya Ashim, a welder, was found attempting to remove the number plate from motorcycle UMA 594BT, allegedly with the intention of replacing it with another.
The suspects have been identified as: Bukenya Ashim (welder), Mutebi Denis (welder), Senono Tonny (mechanic), Katongole Salim (builder), Mutesasira Brian (mechanic), Wampande Alex (scrap dealer), Kiwewa Farick (mechanic), and Lukenge Sulaiman (boda boda rider).
All the suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
