Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), James Eserait has today, Tuesday, April 21, 2026 presented a series of items recovered from the home of prime suspect Christopher Okello Onyum, as investigations intensify into the gruesome murder of four children.
The exhibits, now in the custody of investigators, include multiple knives believed to be of potential evidential value, two United States passports, and a collection of other materials whose significance is still being examined by forensic experts. The items were formally documented and submitted as part of the ongoing criminal inquiry.
Police sources indicate that the recovered knives are undergoing detailed forensic analysis to determine whether they were used in the commission of the crime. Specialists are expected to conduct tests for traces of blood, fingerprints, and other biological evidence that could directly link the suspect to the killings.
The discovery of two U.S. passports among the items has raised additional questions for investigators. ASP Eserait emphasized that all recovered materials are being handled in accordance with evidentiary procedures to ensure their admissibility in court. “Every item recovered is being carefully processed and analyzed. Our goal is to establish a clear, evidence-based account of what transpired,” a police source familiar with the matter noted.
Investigators are also exploring possible motives, including whether the killings were premeditated or part of a broader pattern of criminal behavior. Interviews with neighbors, relatives, and other potential witnesses are ongoing, as authorities seek to build a comprehensive case.
